It's well written mate. As an introduction to an outsider to this scene its fine.

But, it's a little like shutting the door after the horse has bolted. HMD, Laser Mag, DBB etc have along with quite a few others been doing these parties for the last 7-8 years. I wouldn't call it a burgeoning scene. If anything, edits for edits sake seem to have reached their creative zenith. The record shops and download sites are packed with average edits of stuff that never needed the edit in the first place. Dont get me wrong I love the scene...I just don't think it's at its height at the mo. Then again I'm an old fart that gets out 4-6 times a year these days

Also no mention of Harvey and the Idjuts who are probably the most respected innovators and were doing this in the 90's. The guys playing at the H&G would have been Bad Passion btw.

Not having a pop. Just my honest opinion fella.

Nah thats a fair point. I know these lads have been at it for years but Sabotage Times isn't a DJ's or music bods magazine, its for lads who will probably have an interest in music and clubbing but might not be right on the cutting edge of the scene. From going out a lot, chatting to people, getting feedback from different types of music fans, it seems there's a big shift towards the disco scene from people who weren't interested in it before. So althought its not a new scene as such, I'd say it was a scene thats massively growing in popularity, hence my introductory article.
I haven't gone into too much detail about the people actually doing the re-edits as I had a seperate article planned for that.

These are the DJ's who were upstairs in the HnG

Nah not at all mate, we're all one big family as far as I'm concerned, theres older heads like yourself who have been getting it going and supporting it for a good length of time, and theres the younguns who are out bright eyed bushy tailed every week carrying the torch, I think theres a good mutual respect from both sides Cool
